St Raphael Kalinowski of St. Joseph

Memorial: 19 Nov.

His life was distinguished by zeal for Church unity and by his unflagging devotion to his ministry as confessor and spiritual director. His spiritual life is marked by continual prayer fed by austerity and silence. He also wrote several books on Carmelite spirituality. He died in Wadowice in 1907 and buried in Czerna. He was canonized by Pope John Paul II on 17 November 1991.
